The Italian Ambassador to Cairo Giampaolo Cantini visited the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization (NMEC) this morning, Friday, with a high-level delegation. This visit came a month before the royal mummies’ parade event.
The royal mummies will be transferred from the Egyptian Museum to the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization in an international royal-like parade.

The visit included touring the theater, restaurants, lecture halls, gift shops, classrooms, and the exhibit halls that will be opened next month.
Moreover, the delegation inspected the latest developments at the Ain Al Sira lake site expressing its admiration for the exhibited artifacts and the ongoing development projects during a meeting with Ghonim Raniss, the director of NMEC.
In the same context, Raniss asserted the importance of NMEC as one of the biggest museums in the middle east, it reflects the greatness of the ancient Egyptian heritage.
He also hailed the accuracy of the ongoing preparations for opening the museum especially before the arrival of the royal mummies.
