Israeli occupation forces launched an arrest campaign today, Sunday, in several West Bank governorates. The Jerusalem Governorate reported that occupation forces detained five farmers while they were working their agricultural land in the town of Beit Anan, northwest of occupied Jerusalem, before arresting them. The farmers were identified as Arafat al-Hanawi, Khalil al-Hanawi, Nader Harb Hamid, Salah Hamid, and Muhammad Mustafa.
The Governorate added that the occupation forces justified the arrests by claiming the farmers had approached an illegal settlement outpost built on the area's land. This comes amidst ongoing restrictions imposed on Palestinians, preventing them from accessing, cultivating, and developing their land.
The lands of Beit Anan and its surrounding areas are subjected to repeated attacks by occupation forces and settlers. These attacks include restricting the movement of Palestinians and preventing them from accessing their agricultural lands, as part of policies aimed at expanding settlement activity and seizing more Palestinian land.
