IRNA Agency: The Foreign Minister is among the passengers of the missing president's helicopter

The Iranian official IRNA news agency said that Foreign Minister Amir Abdollahian was among the passengers of the helicopter on which President Ebrahim Raisi was aboard.

The Iranian Tasnim Agency reported that the rescue teams of the Red Crescent, the military forces, and the auxiliary police forces began a large-scale operation to find a helicopter that was carrying Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi and that was involved in an accident in East Azerbaijan Province.

According to the agency, some of the Iranian president’s companions in this helicopter were able to contact the center, and thus hopes are increasing that this incident will end without loss of life.

This fleet included 3 helicopters, and two helicopters carrying some ministers and officials arrived safely to their destination.

Information indicates that the Tabriz Friday Imam, Ayatollah Hashem, the Governor of East Azerbaijan, and Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian were on board the helicopter carrying the Iranian president.

Local residents say that the condition of the helicopter is still unknown due to the foggy conditions in the area.
