Iraq's Ambassador to Egypt and Permanent Representative to the Arab League, Dr. Qahtan Taha Khalaf, met with British Ambassador to Egypt Mark Bryson-Richardson on Wednesday to discuss ways to strengthen bilateral relations and review regional and international developments.
The talks focused on expanding cooperation between Iraq and the United Kingdom, while also addressing developments in Iraq-Egypt relations and broader Arab affairs.
The two diplomats also discussed the impact of the ongoing economic crisis and disruptions to oil supplies. On the Palestinian issue, Khalaf stressed the need to end what he described as the aggressive policies of the Israeli occupation authorities in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, calling for efforts to create conditions that would promote security and stability across the region.
The meeting underscored continued diplomatic consultations between Baghdad and London on key regional and international issues.
