Today, Saturday, Iranian Foreign Minister (FM) Abbas Araghchi arrived in the Omani capital, Muscat, to hold discussions regarding maritime navigation conditions in the Strait of Hormuz, which sparked the recent escalation between Iran and the United States.
In this context, an American official—according to ABC News—stated that the US and Iranian negotiation teams are expected to resume talks in the Sultanate of Oman today, Saturday, though no official confirmation has been issued yet.
Oman Emphasizes Commitment to Freedom of Navigation in Hormuz
During its participation in the 137th session of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) Council currently held in London, the Sultanate of Oman issued a statement reaffirming its steadfast commitment to the freedom of maritime navigation in accordance with the principles of international law.
Oman also emphasized its dedication to the security and safety of international sea lanes, protecting lives, and ensuring the smooth flow of global trade.
Iran: "Our Forces Are Everywhere"
On the other hand, Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei stated that the country's armed forces are deployed everywhere, vigilantly monitoring the enemy's movements to maintain Iran's security and stability.
