Iran Reports Progress in Talks with Omani Delegation on Strait of Hormuz Navigation

Amid ongoing talks between the Omani delegation and the Iranian side in Tehran, Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei announced that progress has been made in discussions with the Omani delegation, which took place on Friday and Saturday at the deputy foreign minister level.

Baghaei also explained that views were exchanged with the Omani delegation regarding mechanisms for managing vessel transit through the strait, while respecting the rights of both coastal states.

Moreover, Iranian Spokesman confirmed that consultations with the Sultanate of Oman regarding the Strait of Hormuz are ongoing.

Regarding the status of navigation in the strait, the Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson emphasized that the situation remains unchanged.

Furthermore, he confirmed that there has been no change in the navigation traffic status in the Strait of Hormuz, while Iranian state television reported that six ships were forced to stop over the past 24 hours in compliance with instructions from the Iranian Armed Forces.
