The arrest of blogger Dalia Fouad on charges of drug trafficking and sales sparked widespread controversy after she denied knowing anything about the rape drug (GHB) that was found in her possession.

A security source in Cairo revealed new details about the arrest of the blogger with narcotics in the New Cairo area. The source confirmed that the blogger was arrested inside an apartment she owns in New Cairo, and that the narcotic drug GHB was found in her possession.

The Public Prosecution in New Cairo ordered the detention of the YouTuber for 4 days pending investigations, after her arrest.

The prosecution requested the security services to investigate the incident to determine its circumstances, in addition to sending the narcotics to the chemical laboratory to prepare a comprehensive report on them.

During the investigations, Fouad denied the charges against her, saying, "It's not mine."

Later, the Anti-Narcotics Department received information that blogger was in possession of narcotics, and based on that, the forces monitored her movements to verify the accuracy of the information.

The security services then arrested her with 2 liters of narcotics found in her possession in New Cairo.

The forces seized the items and took her to the police station to file a report on the incident, then referred her to the Public Prosecution, which issued a decision to detain her.

During the investigations, Dalia Fouad denied the accusations against her, stressing: "I don't know anything about drugs .. I did not know it was drugs," wondering about the reason for her arrest and the security measures taken against her.

She also confirmed that the drugs seized inside a villa do not belong to her, noting that she had rented the villa 6 months ago for a monthly fee of 17,000 pounds.

Fouad added in the investigations that she does not sell drugs and does not know anything about the seized substances.

She indicated that she left her young daughter with her grandmother inside the villa, and demanded her release to take care of her daughter.

Investigations indicated that the main accused, a foreign national, smuggles the date rape drug into the country through an import and export company in the form of clean packages to hide the original content of the drug from police surveillance, and then carries out the distribution and advertising process via social media platforms and through his assistant Dalia Fouad.

The Ministry of Interior succeeded in seizing more than 180 liters of "GHP", the drug used to rape girls, in the possession of a criminal element "who holds the nationality of one of the countries" and "a content creator on social media sites in Cairo. The financial value of the narcotics was estimated at approximately 145 million pounds.

Dalia Fouad is an Egyptian media personality and blogger born in 1985, a graduate of the Faculty of Mass Communication, Cairo University. She began her media career by presenting many programs, the most prominent of which were the programs "Desert Drivers 2" and "D-go", in addition to the second season of the program "Sedeem".

 What is GHB?

GHB is often called the date rape drug. Because the liquid is odorless and colorless, it can sometimes be slipped into a person's drink without their knowledge.

Because of its dangerous effects, GHB has led to the need for emergency medical care for many young people, and has resulted in more deaths among users than MDMA.

Side effects of GHB use include drowsiness, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, and vision changes. People who take GHB may lose consciousness (pass out), stop breathing, and go into a coma. GHB use can be fatal.
