Egyptian Interior Ministry is on high alert across all governorates in preparation for New Year’s Eve.
Security forces have intensified their presence in main streets, squares, and around vital facilities in order to ensure a safe environment for citizens.
The ministry seeks to follow up the implementation of the cabinet's latest decisions, especially at cafes, and malls to prevent mass gatherings, as a part of the state's efforts to curb the spread of the Coronavirus pandemic.

It is worth mentioning that, the cabinet's decisions include canceling all the New Year’s celebrations and events along with closing any facility which holds any eve.
Hotels should be restricted to the specified numbers at the weddings which only should be held in open-air areas.
As of Sunday, an immediate fine worth EGP 50 against violators of anti-coronavirus measures. Violators will be referred to the prosecution in case of nonpayment.
Immediate fine, amounting to EGP 4,000, on the violating cafes and restaurants will be applied as well as closing the facility for one week as of Sunday.
Egypt has so far registered 135,233 coronavirus cases, 7,520 deaths.
