The release date of the fifth installment in the insidious franchise has been revealed.
The franchise has been dormant for almost half a decade and there has been a lot devolvement with the fifth installment over the last few years.
"Insidious 5" is set to return to theaters on July 7, 2023.
The project will be released during an extremely packed month. Just a week before the film’s release on June 30 another highly anticipated fifth entry in a popular franchise, the untitled Indiana Jones 5, will finally release.
Then, just a week after Insidious releases, "Mission: Impossible-Dead Reckoning Part One" is hitting theaters.
The project sees Patrick Wilson not only returning to the franchise for the first time since his cameo in Insidious: Chapter 3, but the horror icon will also make his directorial debut with this highly anticipated sequel.
Ty Simpkins is also set to reprise his role as Josh’s son Dalton as well. Not much is known about the plot, except that it will take place 10 years after the original with Dalton now in College.
The movie is written by Scott Teems, who co-wrote Halloween Kills, from an idea from franchise co-creator Leigh Whannell.
The Insidious franchise launched in 2010 and was the first collaboration between director James Wan, Whannell, and the horror-loving Blumhouse.
