The Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) is set to become one of the world's largest archaeological museums dedicated to a single civilization, according to an infographic highlighting the scale of the landmark cultural project. The museum houses more than 100,000 artifacts, including the complete Tutankhamun collection of more than 5,000 objects, displayed together for the first time. Built on a 500,000-square-meter site, the museum features 11 main exhibition galleries tracing Egypt's history from prehistoric times through the Greco-Roman era.
The infographic also notes that the museum's Grand Hall is anchored by the 83-ton colossal statue of Ramses II, while 19 state-of-the-art conservation laboratories support the preservation of Egypt's archaeological treasures. Surrounded by 50 hectares of landscaped outdoor space, the museum is expected to attract millions of visitors annually, reinforcing Egypt's position as a leading global destination for cultural tourism, according to the Grand Egyptian Museum and the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities.
