Infographic | Egypt's New Administrative Capital Emerges as a Smart City and Government Hub

Egypt's New Administrative Capital continues to take shape as one of the country's largest urban development projects, according to an infographic released by the Administrative Capital for Urban Development (ACUD), the Ministry of Housing, and the Cabinet. Covering 700 square kilometers, the city has become the new headquarters for 34 government ministries and is designed to accommodate 6.5 million residents upon completion. The development is also home to the 385.8-meter Iconic Tower, the tallest building in Africa, while more than 40% of its total area has been allocated to parks, landscaped spaces and other green areas.

The infographic highlights that the capital is supported by three electric transit systems—the Light Rail Transit (LRT), the Cairo Monorail and a future connection to Egypt's high-speed electric rail network—along with trillions of Egyptian pounds invested in infrastructure, housing and urban development. Officials say the project is intended to serve as Egypt's new administrative center while positioning the city as a regional business and financial hub, advancing digital transformation through smart infrastructure and supporting the long-term objectives of Egypt Vision 2030.
