Infographic | Egypt's Automotive Industry Accelerates Growth Through Manufacturing and Export Expansion

 Egypt is stepping up efforts to strengthen its automotive industry through expanded local manufacturing, export incentives and investment in advanced vehicle production, according to an infographic released by the Ministry of Industry, the Industrial Development Authority (IDA) and the Cabinet. 

The infographic shows that 13 automotive companies are operating assembly and manufacturing facilities across the country, supported by 17 production plants manufacturing passenger cars, buses, trucks and commercial vehicles. The government is also targeting a 45% local content ratio in locally assembled vehicles to boost domestic value-added manufacturing.

The infographic highlights that billions of Egyptian pounds have been invested in automotive manufacturing and component production, while national incentives are supporting the expansion of electric vehicle assembly and production. Through the Automotive Industry Development Program (AIDP), Egypt aims to increase production, expand exports to Africa, the Middle East and selected European markets, attract foreign direct investment, create thousands of skilled jobs and promote technology transfer as it seeks to establish itself as a regional hub for automotive manufacturing and exports.
