Egypt is moving forward with the expansion of Ain Sokhna Port as part of its strategy to establish the country as a regional maritime and logistics hub, according to an infographic released by the Ministry of Transport, the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone), and the Cabinet. The upgraded port features 18 kilometers of quays, 18 specialized terminals, a 29-square-kilometer operational area, and 8.6 million square meters dedicated to storage yards, logistics zones and support facilities. Located at the southern entrance of the Suez Canal, the port is a key component of the SCZone and is designed to serve container, general cargo, dry bulk, liquid bulk and roll-on/roll-off (Ro-Ro) operations.

The infographic highlights that Ain Sokhna Port is being integrated with Egypt's high-speed electric rail network and connected to the Ain Sokhna–Cairo Highway and other major transport corridors to improve cargo movement and regional connectivity. Officials say the expansion is intended to increase cargo handling capacity, attract industrial and foreign investment, strengthen trade links between Asia, Europe and Africa, support Egyptian exports, reduce transit times and create thousands of job opportunities while reinforcing Egypt's role as a global logistics gateway.
