Infographic | Egypt Expands Fourth-Generation Smart Cities to Support Sustainable Growth

Egypt is accelerating its national urban development strategy with the construction of 38 new cities, including 24 fourth-generation smart cities, according to an infographic released by the Ministry of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities, the New Urban Communities Authority (NUCA), and the Cabinet. 

The projects, which include the New Administrative Capital, New Alamein City, New Mansoura City, East Port Said (Salam City), Nasser City (West Assiut), and Hadayek Al Asima, are designed to support sustainable development through advanced digital infrastructure, environmentally friendly planning and modern public services.

The infographic says more than 700,000 housing units have been completed or are under construction across the new cities, which are connected by 7,000 kilometers of newly developed roads and transport corridors. Backed by trillions of Egyptian pounds in public and private investment, the developments feature fiber-optic networks, digital government services, intelligent transport systems and smart traffic management. 

Officials say the projects are intended to accommodate population growth, attract domestic and foreign investment, improve quality of life and advance the goals of Egypt Vision 2030.
