India has delivered more than 16 tons of medicines and medical equipment to Afghanistan to support efforts in combating malaria, dengue fever, and other insect-borne diseases.
According to officials in Kabul, the shipment was sent to the Taliban’s Ministry of Public Health, as reported by Afghanistan’s Khaama Press News Agency on Sunday.
Taliban spokesperson Sharfat Zaman confirmed on platform X that the medical supplies aim to help the country tackle the spread of vector-borne illnesses such as malaria and dengue fever.
This latest humanitarian contribution follows Taliban Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi’s visit to India, signaling New Delhi’s continued humanitarian engagement with Afghanistan despite the complex political context.
