India decried in strongest terms the terrorist blast which took place, late Sunday in front of National cancer institute in El-Manial Neighborhood, resulting in the death of 20 people and the injury of 48 others.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, Indian Foreign Ministry said, “We offer our deepest condolences to the bereaved families and wish a speedy recovery to those injured in the attack.” “India stands in solidarity with the Government and the people of the Arab Republic of Egypt in the fight against terrorism.”

“The terror attack in Cairo is yet another reminder of the necessity for concerted action on the part of the International community to defeat the scourge of terrorism,” the statement read.

Noteworthy, Egypt’s interior ministry revealed on Monday that the deadly bombing took place when an explosives-filled car collided with three other vehicles near the National Cancer Institute.

The car was reported stolen from Al-Menoufiya province several months ago, according to the ministry.

The Ministry said that the vehicle was on its way to carry out a terrorist operation, although the target of the planned attack remains unclear.

Moreover, the ministry announced that Hasm terrorist group, which is affiliated with the banned Muslim Brotherhood, was behind the blast.
