The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has approved a $690 million disbursement to Ukraine after completing the first review of the country's four-year financing program.
The latest tranche, equivalent to SDR 503 million, is part of the IMF's $8.1 billion Extended Fund Facility (EFF), which is designed to support Ukraine's economic stability and reform agenda.
In a statement, the IMF said Ukraine's performance under the program had been "broadly satisfactory", allowing the immediate release of the funds.
The approval follows a staff-level agreement reached on 12 June and marks the first review of the 48-month lending program, which aims to help sustain Ukraine's economy amid the ongoing war with Russia.
