IIC to Host Symposium on "Conservation of Cultural Heritage"

In collaboration with the International Heritage Center of Egypt Future Foundation, the Italian Cultural Institute (IIC) will hold the Italian-Egyptian Symposium on "Technology and Applied Sciences in Conservation of Cultural Heritage" from 28 to 30 January 2025, at the Manial Palace Museum and Italian Cultural Institute, Cairo.

The event will feature appearance by figures from the Central Administration for Restoration and the Museums Sector of the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, and experts from many Italian universities and scientific centers.

The symposium will focus on Technology in Conservation of Cultural Heritage, Applied Sciences in Conservation of Cultural Heritage, Interdisciplinary Approaches in Heritage Conservation, Advances in Green Conservation of Cultural Heritage, Green practices in the conservation of heritage landscapes, Environmental Control Systems for Heritage Preservation, and Digitizing historical archives for preservation and accessibility.

 The symposium will also highlight the Integrating indigenous practices with modern science, Heritage conservation projects fostering community engagement, Challenges and limitations in conservation practices, and Geophysical and Archeogephisics Techniques in Archaeological Site Conservation.
