IFA Launches 6th Edition to Present 2020 Collection [Video]

At a major hotel in Cairo overlooking the Nile, Ahmed Elewa, Head of the Arab Fashion Council, presented the International Fashion Awards (IFA) Winter 2020 in its sixth edition in the presence of actress Nermin Al-Fiqy and fashion designer Hany Elbehairy, Moroccan host Imane Hamdaoui, makeup expert Samah Hassan, Miss Arab World Egypt Nourhan Ahmed and other stars of art and society.

The fashion designers participating in this event showcased their new collections for 2020. Among them is the Egyptian designer Samah Mahran, who participated in the IFA for the first time. Mahran presented a unique wedding dress to the actress Malak koura, which combined dantel and satin in a unique design. Mahran's collection was extremely luxurious, yet, so sophisticated in its distinctive and perse colors.

Also, the event featured two Saudi fashion designers- Rema Al-Nasser, who presented a children's collection, and Reham Zahi, who show cased her unique and elegant look abaya collection with a stylish appearance for the second year in a row.

Morocco also presented two designers-Mounia Ramsis and Siham el Morabet Lymouri, who show cased oriental silk blend with a slight sheen Caftans.

From Malawi Lilly Alfonso, who creates high end fashion ‘Haute Couture’, presented designs for both sexes with an African taste. Alfonso managed to establish her brand name among the top ones in the African world.

The activities of the sixth session to support women were prepared through the participation of six influential women in the Arab and African world, through direct fashion shows.

Elewa added that the IFA 6 has a special nature this year, especially after the establishment of the Arab Fashion Council, explaining that this session is characterized by a pure participation of women in an attempt to develop new concepts of fashion shows in Egypt with a societal dimension.

"This year's edition is an affirmation that women represents one half of the society and that they participate alongside men and support the fashion industry, which is one of the major sources of wealth for many economies in the world," he concluded.
