On Friday, iconic French-Romanian Electro music star Rona Hartner passed away at the age of 50 after a long battle with cancer.
Hartner was known for her role in "Gadjo Dolo," and her wide contributions to the scene of the Electro-Balkan music.
The late singer died in Toulon, France, according to her sister Rinda. She took the social media to post the tragic news, asserting that Hartner died after a brave battle against lung and brain cancer.
Born in 1973, Hartner started her career at the German School ‘Herman Oberth’ and continued at the Academy of Theatre and Film in Bucharest.
In 1996, she acted one of her most successful roles in ‘Gadjo Dilo’ (The Crazy Stranger), and she received a huge positive reception due to her performance including winning prestigious ‘Bronze Leopard’ at the Locarno International Film Festival and a Cesar Award nomination.
