Gustave Caillebotte's rare artwork "Young Man at His Window" was auctioned, media agencies reported on Tuesday.

J. Paul Getty Museum in Los Angeles is the new owner of the painting, and it bought the valuable painting for more than $ 53 million.

The latest auction was organized by the prestigious Christie's auction house in New York where the house exhibited various impressionist and realistic rare artworks.

It depicts a man who wears a black suit, the man is standing all alone at the window. There are different signs that reflect the social class that man belongs to such as the very comfortable red chair behind him, and the prestigious architectural design.

"Young Man at His Window" gives also a glimpse into the life of the upper classes, and how they approach the lower ones.

Moreover, the painting provides a personal and subjective perspective of a mood of relaxation, or calm thinking. It portrays also the historical, and breathtaking architecture of central Paris.

This painting is always compared to Casper David Friedrich's artworks as they carry the same features of sceneries and landscapes.

Finished in 1875, it measures 117 by 82 cm, and it was painted with oil colors on canvas.
