Egypt’s resort city of Hurghada has been ranked 21 in the top 25 tourist destinations list around the world this year, according to TripAdvisor, the world’s largest travel website.

Hurghada is followed by Hong Kong in China، Cuzco City in Peru، While Sydney in Australia ranked 24th، followed by Tel Aviv in Israel.

London، the Capital of the United Kingdom، topped the list، followed by Paris، then the Italian capital of Rome، followed by Crete Island in Greece.

TripAdvisor enables travelers to unleash the full potential of every trip. With over 630 million reviews and opinions covering the world's largest selection of travel listings worldwide – covering approximately 7.5 million accommodations، airlines، experiences، and restaurants.

It provides travelers with the wisdom of the crowds to help them decide where to stay، how to fly، what to do and where to eat.

The website also compares prices from more than 200 hotel booking sites so travelers can find the lowest price on the hotel that's right for them.

TripAdvisor-branded sites are available in 49 markets، and are home to the world's largest travel community of 455 million average monthly unique visitors

“Stunning coral reefs and turquoise waters perfect for windsurfing have made Hurghada on Egypt’s Red Sea Coast, a busy resort town,” the website said. “Within easy reach of the stunning Giftun Islands and the Eastern Arabian Desert, Hurghada has seen enormous amounts of development in the past decade—and yes, it does seem overrun with tourists at times. But it’s a relatively easy beach escape for Europeans, and some of the world’s best ping and snorkeling sites are just offshore. Walk or catch a cab to explore the old quarter, El Dahar.”

On his part, Ehab Shukri, a member of the Steering Committee of the Chamber of Tourism Companies said that selecting Hurghada among the top 25 tourist destinations in the world is a result of the government’s efforts to avoid the negatives that took place over the past years along with the increase of the European demand on Hurghada, especially the German and British tourists.

Last year, Sharm El Sheikh and Hurghada were ranked as the lowest costing luxury holiday tourist destinations in the world, according to a report released by travel search engine Skyscanner.
