In a rare phenomenon, number of whale sharks have been observed by pers in different regions south of Hurghada.

These endangered sharks are the hugest sea creature ever as their lengths extend from 5 to 6 meters long and each of them weigh 21.5 tons.

They have dotted skin and live for almost 70 years. people in Hurhghada call them “Bahlol”.

Two weird features are that, despite of their huge sizes, they are human’s friends and they have no teeth to eat.

They’re mainly feeding on tiny plants and small fishes by just opening their mouth while floating so that they can catch large number of food.

The arrival of this type of rare sharks, which always live in tropical oceans, to this close area reflects the huge efforts exerted in protecting the marine environment.

Also, this means a full compliance with the international conventions related to protecting migratory organisms.

These sharks’ migration indicates that environment is still clean despite all surrounded pollution factors.

This incident seems to contribute to tourism promotion; as tourists with different nationalities were so happy and excited seeing this rare shark for the first time.
