On Sunday, Egypt's Hurghada International Airport received the first flight of German charter airline Condor, coming from Frankfurt, with 220 passengers on board.

This is the first flight from Berlin since the inbound tourism to Egypt was resumed in last July. The tourists were warmly welcomed with flowers and souvenirs.

Head of Domestic tourism sector at the authority, Eman Mahmoud, affirmed that the German market is one of the main tourist markets for Egypt, noting that they have completed their necessary arrival procedures, while applying all precautionary measures and social distancing to preserve the safety of travelers and the airport staffs.

The flight comes as a result of efforts made by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Egyptian Embassy in Germany to restore German tourist movement to Egypt, in coordination with the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities.

Last September, Minister of Tourism Khaled El-Anani paid a short visit to Berlin, which is the first visit by an Egyptian official to Germany since the emergence of the Coronavirus crisis.

It is noteworthy that there will be a regular German flight weekly, while the number will increase to 3 flights per week in mid-March
