The first look at the “Hunger Games” prequel movie, “The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes” has been unveiled.
It is based on Suzanne Collins’ book, “The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes” and serves as an origin story of Coriolanus Snow and the Hunger Games event.
The teaser doesn't reveal any footage from the movie, however, it offers stunning graphics to entice Hunger Games fans.
The footage featured an animated version of the book cover. Its frosty opening reveals close-up shots of tree branches, panning across part of a snake's body while inviting viewers to return to the games. As it continues, the audience next sees a close-up of a bird's tail and feet.
As the ice falls away to reveal a golden bird and snake title cards reveal that the world will discover who is a songbird and who is a snake.
The teaser concluded with different elements combined to reveal the full logo. Sharp-eared fans also pick up on the familiar four-note motif prominent in the other movies.

West Side Story breakout star Rachel Zegler will play the role of Lucy Gray Baird, a tribute from District 12, who Snow is assigned to mentor through the game.
The character is described as being a charismatic young girl who earns the attention and adoration of Panem through her singing voice.
The movie will also feature the “Billy the Kid” star Tom Blyth, who was recently announced to be playing the young Coriolanus Snow.
Filmmaker Francis Lawrence, who directed “Catching Fire” and both “Mockingjay” movies, will return to direct.
Moreover, Collins will write the movie’s treatment, while Michael Arndt will adapt the screenplay.
Nina Jacobson and Brad Simpson will serve as producers.
"The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes" marks the fifth film installment of the franchise.
The prequel focuses on Coriolanus Snow, who fans first met as President Snow, during Panem's tenth Hunger Games, about 64 years prior to The Hunger Games. It follows Coriolanus as he mentors District 12's female tribute, Lucy Gray Baird.
"The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes" will hit theaters on November 17, 2023.
