Egyptian actress Huda El Mufti has landed her first lead TV role in an untitled TV series from director Kawthar Younis ("Maqsoom").
Younis directs the series from a script by the scribe of the Netflix TV series "Finding Ola", Ghada Abdel Aal.
It consists of 15 episodes and is produced by E-producers Productions.
The drama is set to screen on the MBC Group during the Ramadan 2025 drama marathon.
El Mufti will be seen next in the long-awaited Netflix TV series "Mawid Maa Elmady".
The cast also includes Asser Yassin, Shereen Reda, Mahmoud Hamida, Saba Mubarak, Rakeen Saad, Sherif Salama, Mohamed Alaa, Mohamed Tharwat, and more.
The series consists of 8 episodes and hails from scriptwriter Mohamed Al Masry and director Al Sadeer Massoud.
"Mawid Maa Elmady" is based on the Mexican thriller series "Quién mató a Sara?" (Who Killed Sara? in English).
The show ran for three seasons from March 2021 to May 2022 and follows Manolo Cardona as Álex, who was framed for the murder of his sister Sara.
Now he's out of prison he's on the hunt for revenge, as he tries to uncover the mystery of what happened.
Massoud, however, previously disclosed that the series will be completely different from the Mexican version and noted that only the general framework has been adapted and the story will be presented in an Arabic tone.
In the upcoming series, the titular character is centered around Yahya losing his sister Nadia on a diving trip and is falsely accused of her murder.
He serves a prison sentence instead of the real murderer, and 15 years later, he is out of prison and goes on a quest to uncover the secrets of the past and take revenge.
