Huda El Mufti Boards Film "Weekend"

Egyptian actress Huda El Mufti has boarded the film "Weekend".

Ahmed Dawood and Maged El Masry are also attached to star in the project.

Sarah Karim directs the pic from a script by Hussein Niazi. Principal photography is set to commence next month.

Up next for El Mufti is the TV series "Sawa Sawa".

The cast also includes Ahmed Malek, Khaled Kamal, Hosny Sheta, Sherif Desoky, Fatma Adel, Mahmoud Alsarraj, Fotouh Ahmed, Hani El Tombari, Noha Abdeen, Adham Zehni, Abduel Aziz Makhyoon, Mohamed Youssef, Ahmed Abdelhamid, and more.

Essam Abdel Hamid directs the drama from a script by Mohab Tarek.

The official logline for the series reads: "Two men want Ahlam—one for love, one for control. She’s claimed utterly: her body failing and her existence contested. Rivaling a man who cages “love”, Ibrahim fights not just to guard her heart, but to keep it beating."

"Sawa Sawa" consists of 15 episodes and marks the fifth collaboration between Malek and El Muft.

They worked together on the 2024 TV series “Matam Al Habib”, the 2021 TV series "Bimbo", the 2022 TV series "Tahqiq", and the 2023 epic historical film "Kira & El Gin".

"Sawa Sawa" is slated to screen on the "MBC Masr" satellite TV channel and "Shahid" during the Ramadan 2026 drama marathon.

Malek participated last Ramadan with the TV series “Welad Al Shams" and El Muft with the TV series "80 Bako."
