HBO announced Tuesday that the second season of the original series "How I Met Your Father" is set to debut on Tuesday, January 24.

The upcoming season consists of 20 episodes that will release weekly on the streamer.

The series stars Hilary Duff, Christopher Lowell, Francia Raisa, Tom Ainsley, Tien Tran, and Suraj Sharma.

It also features recurring stars such as Leighton Meester, Kim Cattrall, Daniel Augustin, Ashley Reyes, and Josh Peck.

The series follows Sophie (Duff) telling her son the story of how she met his father.

It also depicts Sophie and her tight-knit group of friends in the midst of figuring out who they are, what they want out of life, and how to fall in love in the age of dating apps and limitless options.

The series is based on the massively successful series "How I Met Your Mother", which was centered around Ted Mosby and his search for true love, a journey he narrated to his two teenage children.

Both series took place in the future, with Sophie's story beginning in 2022.

"How I Met Your Father" is scripted by Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger.

Executive producers include Aptaker, Berger, Carter Bays, Craig Thomas, Pam Fryman, and Adam Londy. Duff will serve as a producer.

"How I Met Your Father" is a production of 20th Television.
