"How I Met Your Father" Casts Leighton Meester in Recurring Role

American singer-actress Leighton Meester has joined the cast of the TV series “How I Met Your Father”, the spinoff of “How I Met Your Mother”.

Meester will play the recurring role of Meredith in the spin-off. The series debuted Tuesday on Hulu and those who tuned in to watch the series premiere have spotted her.

The series is centered around Sophie ( played by Hilary Duff) as she navigates the messy ups and downs of dating in the modern world with the help of her close friends.

Much like the parent series, the viewers will follow the close-knit group of friends as they explore life and love.

The series also stars Christopher Lowell, Francia Raisa, Tom Ainsley, Tien Tran, and Suraj Sharma.

“How I Met Your Father” was announced in April and will also feature recurring stars such as Kim Cattrall, Daniel Augustin, Ashley Reyes, and Josh Peck.

The series is a comedy genre that consists of 10 episodes. It is produced by 20th Television and written by Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger.

Executive producers include Aptaker, Berger, Carter Bays, Craig Thomas, Pam Fryman, and Adam Londy. Duff will also serve as a producer.
