Singer and composer Hossam Habib responded to the following alarming statements from Sherine Abdel Wahab's former lawyer, Yasser Kantoush.
Habib denied reports of a crisis, telling local media: “I am with Sherine in her house. She is fine. There are no problems at all, and I don’t know why Mr. Kantoush is saying such things.”
Kantoush had earlier announced his resignation as Abdel Wahab's legal representative, claiming that he received a distress call from her during her latest breakdown.
He alleged that an unnamed individual was “controlling and destroying her life,” and called on Egypt’s Ministries of Culture and Health to intervene.
Abdel Wahab stated in response, confirming that Kantoush no longer represents her legally and warning him against making any further comments on her behalf.
The controversy deepened after Kantoush revealed what he described as “shocking details” about Abdel Wahab's health, stressing that she had endured years of repeated pressures that left her in a fragile state.
He also claimed his legal team visited her residence recently but were surprised to find the same individual with her, describing her behavior as “unnatural” and “increasingly concerning.”
Meanwhile, Egyptian Minister of Culture Ahmed Fouad Heno dismissed Kantoush’s plea, stating, “Protect her from whom? This is her husband. Should I protect her from her husband?”
The latest developments come amid renewed speculation about Abdel Wahab's personal life and her reconciled relationship with Habib, which both artists continue to describe as private despite mounting public and legal disputes.
