Hosny to Launch Documentary Cultural Project on Egypt's Key Cultural Projects

Iconic artist, the former Minister of Culture, and the Founder of the Farouk Hosny Foundation of Culture and Arts Farouk Hosny is launching a documentary project for the Egyptian cultural projects during his run as the Minister of Culture.

Hosny will narrate and reveal the details of some of the major Egyptian cultural projects, and the key decisions of executing them like the establishing of the Grand Egyptian Museum, restoring the Sphinx, restoring Al Moez Street, the establishing the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization, the project of restoring the Islamic antiquities, establishing specialized museums and centers, and the founding of several cultural initiatives like "Al Qeraa Lel Gamee" and "Maktabet El Osra" (the national initiatives for reading," the El Hanager Center for Arts, the Cultural Development Fund, Saloon El Shabab "a national competition for supporting young and rising artists), and the National Center of Translation. 

Moreover, the former minister will discuss the role and targets of these projects and how they contributed to enhance Egypt's soft powers and cultural scene.

He will also review the challenges he faced since his day 1 as a Minister of Culture. In addition, the iconic artist will speak up about his key career and personal moments.

Hosny will review his 60-year career of public and civil work, including his early years as a director of Al Anfoushi Cultural Center in Alexandria, furthermore, he will recall a lot of memories, figures, and national moments and how he interacted with them.
