Disney+ released Monday the trailer for the movie "Hollywood Stargirl", the sequel to its 2020 movie "Stargirl".

The sequel follows free spirit Stargirl Caraway (Grace VanderWaal), a silver-voiced teenager whose simple acts of kindness work magic in the lives of others, relocates to L.A. after her mother Ana (Judy Greer) gets hired as the costume designer for a movie.

She embarks on a journey out of Mica, Arizona, and into a bigger world of music, dreams, and possibilities.

The trailer featured Caraway going up on stage to perform for a small audience. She tells them that she is new to California and will try something different by singing without her ukulele, which she used while singing at the football games for her high school.

The original movie featured Leo Borlock (played by Graham Verchere) trying to get through high school while remaining invisible and trying to fit in like everybody else in his class. However, when he meets Stargirl, she tries to get him to open up and act more like himself and not be a copy of everyone else.

The movie concludes with Stargirl arranging it so Leo sings in front of the class.

The sequel also stars Elijah Richardson, Tyrel Jackson Williams, Judd Hirsch, Uma Thurman, and others.

It is directed by Julia Hart, who also helmed the original movie.

Hart also co-wrote the movie's screenplay alongside Jordan Horowitz, who co-wrote the first part. Horowitz is serving as a producer of the movie.

The movie is based on the character from the 2000 book Stargirl by Jerry Spinelli.

"Hollywood Stargirl" will be released on Disney+ on June 3.
