The fifth edition of the Hollywood Arab Film Festival officially kicked off in Los Angeles with a vibrant opening ceremony attended by members of the Arab community and prominent figures from the film industry in California.

The festival runs from April 17 to April 20, celebrating Arab cinema on an international stage.

Several notable stars were present at the event, including Ahmed El Saadany, Riham Abdel Ghafour, Mayan El Sayed, and Mirhan Hussein.

They were joined by filmmakers from Hollywood and Ambassador Hossam El Din Ali, Egypt’s Consul General in Los Angeles. Guests were welcomed by festival president Michael Bakhoum.

The ceremony featured a tribute to the late acclaimed Egyptian director Dawood Abdel Sayed.

Organizers presented a montage of his most influential works, along with a previously recorded audio message in which he expressed his support for the festival during its first edition, when he was honored.

Actress Riham Abdel Ghafour was awarded the Aziza Amir Award during the ceremony. The award was presented by rising star Mayan El Sayed, marking one of the evening’s highlights.

The event concluded with the screening of the opening film “We Have Love in Imagination,” followed by a panel discussion featuring the film’s lead actors Ahmed El Saadany and Mayan El Sayed.
