On Monday, Hisham Abdel Khalek, one of the most renowned Egyptian film producers, was elected as the head of the Egyptian Cinema Industry Chamber, in the latest elections of the chamber.
The Chamber’s Board of Directors consists of 15, including 12 elected members and 3 appointed members.
The lists of candidates are divided into 3 categories: large, medium, small, and micro enterprises, according to the capital of each establishment, in accordance with the new election law.
The Chamber of Film Industry is affiliated with the Federation of Egyptian Industries. It works on managing the members' affairs, protecting their benefit, and serving as a safeguard for films domestically and abroad through individual efforts.
It works through a system for distributing the film to ensure there is no exploitation and swiftly takes action against any problem.
The chamber’s sectors include film producers, film studios, printing and developing factories, film distributors, and movie theaters. It is also the cinematic entity that grants film licenses and rights certificates.
