Disney has unveiled the first look at “Ice Age: Boiling Point,” the sixth installment in the animated prehistoric franchise.
The footage shows the gang floating through the air after being blasted by a volcano, whose latest adventure will take them deep into never-before-seen areas of the mysterious Lost World.
The franchise's familiar voices are returning, with Ray Romano back as Manny, Denis Leary as Diego, John Leguizamo as Sid the sloth, Simon Pegg as Buck, and Queen Latifah as Ellie.
Scrat, of course, will be there, failing to stay out of trouble! The acorn-obsessed squirrel joins the journey alongside Crash, Eddie, and a baby Scrat, first seen in the Disney+ animated short series "Ice Age: Scrat Tales."
According to an official description, “Boiling Point” is a “dinosaur-and-lava-filled madcap adventure that takes Manny, Sid, Diego, Ellie, Scrat, and the rest of the herd to visit never-before-seen corners of the treacherous Lost World.”
Back in November 2024, Disney and 20th Century Animation announced that the sixth “Ice Age” film was in the works and that series stars Ray Romano, John Leguizamo, Queen Latifah, Denis Leary, and Simon Pegg would return.
The new film marks the first big-screen "Ice Age" adventure in more than a decade.
The last “Ice Age” entry, “Collision Course,” was released in 2016 and went on to gross $408.5 million at the worldwide box office.
The first film bowed in 2002, spawning four mainline sequels, a spinoff film, and a series of shorts on Disney+. The franchise as a whole has grossed $3.2 billion since its inception.
"Ice Age: Boiling Point" is directed by John Donkin, who previously worked on "The Ice Age Adventures of Buck Wild," and produced by Lori Forte, a longtime creative behind the franchise.
"Ice Age: Boiling Point" is set to hit theaters on February 5, 2027. Check out the teaser trailer below.
