The first look at “Ezma,” a film based on iconic author Mohamed Sadek's 2020 novel, has been unveiled.
The film stars Ahmed Dawood, Salma Abu Deif, Jessica Hossam Eldin, Hamza Diab, and more.
It also features Passant Shawky, making a special appearance in the pic.
The adaptation marks Abu Deif and Dawood's third collaboration after the 2020 TV series Zienhom and the 2022 high-end Arabic remake of Suits.
It is scripted by Sadek, who will make his feature directorial debut with the upcoming project.
The film is co-produced by The Producer Film Clinic and Shofha Production.
The novel, which has been a bestseller for years, revolves around Issa, who, on his thirty-sixth birthday, after a desperate struggle with life that led to his crushing defeat, receives a gift from the last person he expects. This gift forces him to change every aspect of his life.
Having lost his passion for life and long been lost to himself, he is compelled to follow this new path, embarking on one experience after another, hoping to rediscover what he has lost. While doing so, his current reality confronts him, and he discovers that he must face his deepest fears.
Dawood appeared last onscreen in the 2024 romance feature "Al Hawa Sultan" and Abu Deif in the 2024 film "Leeh Teasheha Lewahdak".
"Ezma" is set to premiere sometime in 2026. Check out the teaser trailer below.
