Another wide release has been added to the spring calendar with Black Bear‘s Guy Ritchie-directed "In the Grey" opening in theaters on April 10.
Written and directed by Ritchie, the original action film stars Henry Cavill, Oscar nominee Jake Gyllenhaal, Eiza González, Kristofer Hivju, Oscar winner Fisher Stevens, and Oscar nominee Rosamund Pike.
"In The Grey" follows a covert team of elite operatives who live in the global shadows, as comfortable wielding power and influence as they are automatic weapons and high explosives. When a ruthless despot steals a billion-dollar fortune, the team is sent to steal it back on what would be for anyone else a suicide mission. What begins as an impossible heist gets much worse, spiraling into an all-out war of strategy, deception and survival.
The production is produced by Ritchie and Ivan Atkinson for Toff Guy, John Friedberg for Black Bear and Dave Caplan for C2.
Black Bear acquired the film’s distribution rights from Lionsgate, which previously was slated to handle domestic release before Black Bear launched its internal U.S. distribution operation.
In a deal that preserves both parties’ involvement, Lionsgate will continue to handle the film’s digital and pay-TV distribution.
"In the Grey" joins Neon’s "The Christophers," Universal’s "You, Me & Tuscany," starring Halle Bailey and Rege-Jean Page, as well as an untitled Shudder Films release and untitled Gkids movie.
