Henry Cavill, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Eiza González are re-teaming with Guy Ritchie on a big-budget untitled action movie.
While plot details and title are being kept under wraps, but it set revolves around two extraction specialists who must plan an escape path for a high-level female negotiator.
The project is scripted and directed by Ritchie and is scheduled to begin filming in Spain this summer.
The "Aladdin" director also produces alongside partner Ivan Atkinson, and Black Bear International’s John Friedberg, who also produced Ritchie’s last two movies. Jill Silfen negotiated the deal on behalf of Black Bear International.
The project comes hot on the heels of April’s U.S. release of the critically well-received action movie "The Covenant", starring Gyllenhaal.
Ritchie has only just wrapped the starry WWII movie "The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare" with Cavill and González among the cast. Cavill also teamed with Ritchie on "The Man From U.N.C.L.E".
"The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare", inspired by real events, will depict UK PM Winston Churchill’s and James Bond scribe Ian Fleming’s secret WWII combat organization.
The clandestine squad’s unconventional and entirely ‘ungentlemanly’ fighting techniques against the Nazis helped change the course of the war as well as gave birth to the modern Black Ops unit.
Lionsgate has secured the movie's domestic distribution rights and is planning for a theatrical release sometime in 2024.
