Tunisia’s Ministry of Culture Honors Anis Lassoued

Hayet Guettat, the Tunisian Minister of Culture honored Wednesday film director Anis Lassoued after his film “Gadha” obtained many international awards.

This honor comes to enhance the leadership of Tunisian cinema globally, and the first international screening of the film by Lassoued was at the 2021 Cairo International Film Festival.

Gadha” Film has obtained many international awards, including the award for the best first work at the Tetouan festival of Mediterranean Cinema in Morocco, the best feature film at the Jerusalem Arab Festival, the best script at the Malmö Arab Film Festival, and the best long film in the International Film Festival in Fez, Morocco.

During the honorary meeting, the attendees discussed a number of important dialogues related to the development of the film industry in Tunisia and ways of financing it, and researched the reform of the distribution system in the halls, in addition to proposing projects to support film productions directed to children.

The minister stressed the need for legal and regulatory legislation to keep pace with developments in the film industry and to adopt successful global experiences in this field.

Lassoued confirmed that all these awards were the result serious and sincere work team, starting with the script, and passing through every artist and technician who participated in the work.

The Tunisian director also stated that he is working on writing a huge work script that will represent an important event in Arab Cinema.
