Kuwaiti television and theatre stalwart Hayat Al Fahad has returned to her homeland in Kuwait following a failed medical trip in the United Kingdom.

The acclaimed actress has been transferred to the intensive care unit (ICU) upon arrival.

The medical team has Al Fahad under strict measures, prohibiting visitors to ensure the utmost comfort and tranquillity necessary for stabilizing her critical condition.

In August 2025, Kuwaiti media outlets reported that the veteran actress suffered a stroke, which required her transfer to the ICU and banned her from receiving visitors until her health improved.

She underwent a catheterization procedure, and despite facing serious health complications, she was showing improvement and responding to treatment by late 2025.

Al Fahad suffered a second, minor stroke during her recovery period in late 2025.

In September, she traveled to London to complete her treatment at the Wellington Hospital.

Born on April 15, 1948, Al Fahad is regarded as one of the Arab world’s most influential television and stage figures.

She is best known for her Kuwaiti plays and the pop culture TV shows "Khalti Qumasha," "Ruqiya wa Sabika," "Jarh Al Zaman," and "'ndama Tu'Gany Al Zuhor."

Her career spans from acting to broadcasting, writing, and producing.
