Well known Egyptian archaeologist and former Antiquities minister Dr. Zahi Hawass said that he has succeeded in returning back 7,000 stolen artifacts.

Hawass pointed out that he has restored another 1,000 pieces as well during the term of Tourism and Antiquities Minister Khaled El Anani.

Hawass added that the Egyptian artifacts were being sold all over the world until 1983, stressing that some of the monuments found in the universal museums are not stolen rather they were officially taken out.

Moreover, the prominent archaeologist stated that he will collect the signatures of the Egyptian experts and officials that prove that Germany has stolen the bust of Queen Nefertiti.

The archaeologist continued to say that he has asked the president of Germany in front of late former President Hosni Mubarak to return back Queen Nefertiti bust.

The former antiquities minister has stated that he was a bad student and he did not wish to continue working among monuments after graduating from college, adding that his life changed after he traveled to the US and studied there for seven years.

He added, “Who falls in love with small things, he strives to make it much bigger. Sometimes I feel like as if I am living among the Pharaohs”.

He then affirmed that he never wastes his life fighting anyone.

Furthermore, he noted that he has earned most of his international awards while working in Egypt.
