Today, during inspecting his excavations in the Valley of the Kings, renowned Egyptologist Dr. Zahi Hawass announces that he is searching for the tombs of Kings Thutmose II, Amenhotep I, and Ramses VIII as well as queens, princes and princesses of the 18th Dynasty.
The mission working at the Valley of the Kings, headed by Dr. Hawass, has unearthed 200 ostroka, which are stone and clay pieces bearing hieroglyphic and hieratic inscriptions pointing to the workers who built the royal tombs.
Hawass asserted that today, during his inspection tour at the Valley of the Kings, he saw nearly 3,000 tourists from different nationalities, from France, Germany, America, Japan, and other countries, adding that life in Luxor is as normal as it always be.
The renowned Egyptologist also met with a Japanese group of tourists who insisted to take memorial photos with him.
He explained that the Egyptian government is taking all precaution measures to safeguard the tourists who are touring freely the city’s different archaeological sites.
