Egyptologist and archaeologist Dr. Zahi Hawass said that King Tutankhamun was not killed, as they could not determine the cause of his death till now.

Hawass said during a press conference in London that King Tutankhamun was suffering from flatfoot, as well as malaria, and he is believed to have suffered from a lack of blood flow to his feet after he got injured in a chariot accident.

Hawass said they are using modern equipment to reveal the truth and uncover the cause of King Tutankhamun death.

The Egyptologist said that he is currently searching for the tomb of Nefertiti, noting that he is the first Egyptian archaeologist to work in the Valley of the Kings.

Hawass said that a British scientist examined a piece of Tutankhamun's mummy in 1978 after it was stolen. They said the mummy had been burned, but Howard Carter, the tomb's discoverer, revealed that he had used tools placed in fire to remove the golden mask, so, parts of the mummy were burned.

Hawass stressed that the mummies were not burned during the Pharaonic era.
