Renowned Egyptologist Dr. Zahi Hawass praised the role of the police of Tourism and Antiquities in protecting historic and tourist sites such as Saqqara, the Pyramids, and Luxor.
His statements came during an interview with the CNN Arabic website.
During his interview, Hawass denied the incidents of harassment that targeted tourists and visitors of these sites.
He also wished to turn the site of the Pyramids into an open museum, and the opening of the Pyramid Site, alongside the Grand Egyptian Museum. The biggest cultural project in the 21st century.
Hawass also underscored the importance of teaching primary school students a subject that handling tourism. It will help them to understand the impact of tourism to Egypt as a source of national income.
