Hawass Meets Int’l Contemporary Artists before Sphinx

Renowned Egyptologist Dr. Zahi Hawass met 50 international figures and artists on the sidelines of the 4th edition of “Forever Is Now” at the Pyramids.

The exhibition bridges between contemporary arts, and the Ancient Egyptian civilization.

Among the audience who were spotted at the meeting were iconic actor Anthony Quinn’s son, Lorenzo Quinn, Alexander Ponomarev, Prince Saudi Sultan Bin Fahd, JR, and others.

Hawass expressed that this exhibition is contributing in promoting for the Egyptian culture and tourism.

Next, he reviewed President Abdel Fattah Sisi's efforts and achievements in preserving the Egyptian antiquities, alongside supporting the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM), the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization (NMEC), restoring Khepial and Islamic Cairo projects.

The international famed Egyptologist talked to the audience about the latest archaeological discoveries near King Teti’s Pyramid. He revealed that the mission unearthed a 5-meter-long papyrus manuscript, several toys, small boats and wooden masks, Platte, an axe from bronze, and some coffins from the New Kingdom of Egypt.

In the same context, Hawass mentioned the Lost Golden City of Aten in Luxor which dates back to Amenhotep III reign, and its presence continued to King Tutankhamun’s reign.
