​Hawass in Italy: Saqqara and Luxor Discoveries Captivate 1,000 Attendees

 Amidst a vibrant and packed celebratory atmosphere, renowned Egyptian archaeologist Dr. Zahi Hawass delivered a major scientific and historical lecture yesterday evening, Sunday, in the Italian town of Arcevia. The event took place as part of a massive Italian cultural festival, drawing a massive public audience of over a thousand enthusiasts of ancient Egyptian civilization.

During his address, Dr. Zahi Hawass explored a spectrum of historical secrets and facts, shedding light on the controversial life of Queen Cleopatra and reviewing the latest global archaeological breakthroughs recently uncovered by Egyptian missions in Luxor and Saqqara. 

Furthermore, Dr. Hawass addressed the critical file of repatriating smuggled Egyptian antiquities from abroad, highlighting the local and international efforts exerted to safeguard heritage identity.

On the sidelines of the festival, the Egyptian archaeologist garnered extensive media attention, conducting a series of press interviews and television appearances with major Italian and European media outlets. Throughout these segments, he emphasized a message of reassurance regarding Egypt's safety, concluding his remarks with a warm invitation to the Italian public to visit Egypt's tourist and archaeological destinations, spearheaded by the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM).
