Prominent Egyptologist Zahi Hawass said on Sunday that the Hurghada Museum, due to open on Saturday, is the first antiquities museum in the Red Sea governorate.

"The inauguration of Hurghada museum comes within the framework of the Tourism and Antiquities Ministry's efforts to persify tourism products in the country," Hawass added on Sunday.

"The museum is the first to be established in Egypt in partnership with the private sector, as it displays over 1,000 ancient artifacts," he noted.

The antiquities will show images of the ancient Egyptians' daily life like hunting tools, ornaments, decorations, food tools, and sports.
