Hawass from Italy: Cleopatra’s Tomb to Be Uncovered Soon

CAIRO, Jan. 14 (SEE)- by the end of his tour in Italy, Egyptian Archaeologist Zahi Hawass said the excavation taking place in Taposiris Magna temple, will lead to discover Cleopatra’s tomb soon.

This was stated during a lecture attended by 1000 students in Palermo University, which is specialized in Egyptian Archaeology. The university based in Palermo; the most famous city in the island of Sicily.

Back to the speech, Hawass pointed out that discovering the first statue of Aphrodite, the goddess of beauty, was the main reason behind his passion towards Egyptian monuments.

He also referred to the 'cursed' coffin that was founded in Alexandria, stating that, “Tomb of Alexander the Great is existing in Alexandria, and is going to be uncovered by coincidence”.

On the other hand, Hawass asserted that by the end of May, the musical part of Tutankhamun's life opera will be done, with the cooperation of a composer and a scenarist from Sicily.

Finally, The Egyptian archaeologist requested restoring the monuments stolen during colonization period to; Greece, Africa and Egypt, the same as what the French President Macron has said previously.

Hawass is currently leading a campaign to restore Nefertiti’s bust, Rosetta stone and the Zodiac, to Egypt.
