Renowned Egyptian archaeologist Zahi Hawass has given a lecture about the recent archaeological discoveries in Egypt at the Egyptian Academy of Fine Arts in Rome, Italy.
The lecture was given at the beginning of the cultural season of the Egyptian Academy of Fine Arts in Rome and a number of Italian politicians and intellectuals attended it.
During the lecture, Hawass stressed the Egyptian political administration’s continuous support to protect and restore the ancient Egyptian heritage. He also pointed out to the long-waiting opening ceremony of the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) next year.
GEM is one of the mega cultural and touristic projects in the 21st century with a total budget of almost one billion dollar.
Finally, Hawass added that the various cultural projects implemented in Egypt and opened by president Sisi such as the cultural city of the new administrative capital of Egypt, the opening of Marsa Matrouh Museum, Baron Empain Palace, and the Museum of Islamic Arts.
