In a new step to support film culture and promote artistic engagement, the Hathor Association for Culture and Arts signed a cooperation protocol with the African Foundation for Development and Capacity Building to organize a free monthly public film screening. The screenings will take place on the second Saturday of every month at the Foundation’s hall in the iconic Immobilia Building in Downtown Cairo.

The program includes the screening of carefully selected films, followed by an open discussion with filmmakers and critics, creating a platform for dialogue and exchange with the audience. The initiative aims to spread cinematic awareness, particularly among young people.

The protocol was signed by Dr. Hassan Moussa, President of the African Foundation, and director Ahmed Rashwan, Chairman of Hathor Association, in the presence of Dr. Ahmed El-Sawy, Dr. Samar Amin, and Dr. Nermeen Osama representing the Foundation. From Hathor’s board, director Mary Badir and engineer Mohamed Younes attended the signing.

Ahmed Rashwan stated that this cooperation represents a new window for offering distinguished films free of charge to the public, emphasizing their commitment to selecting works with strong artistic and intellectual value, ensuring diversity across genres and cultures, and encouraging audience discussions after each screening.

Dr. Hassan Moussa expressed his happiness with the partnership, noting that this positive collaboration will contribute to creating meaningful cultural momentum aligned with the Foundation’s vision of supporting cultural activities and capacity building.
